The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) Branch of the B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has introduced a new testing requirement for all authorized inspectors (AI) who wish to add the salvage vehicle endorsement to their certificate.
Effective March 31, 2022, all AIs seeking this endorsement are required to take and pass a knowledge test administered by their local area vehicle inspector.
Following the implementation date, the Vehicle Safety BC Portal (VSBCP) will prevent all facilities from submitting salvage vehicle inspections unless the AI who is conducting the inspection is also specifically endorsed to conduct salvage inspections by the vehicle inspection program (VIP).
