The ARA EstimateScrubber is a cloud-based software that utilizes artificial neural networks (ANNs) to analyze information within the text of an estimate. It processes the text captured in PDF files. (Note: Estimates that are scanned, faxed, or photocopied will not be analyzed.)

Unlike most generic scrubbers that identify missed opportunities based on a variety of industry standards, the ARA EstimateScrubber specifically highlights what was missed according to ICBC guidelines.

When an estimate is uploaded to ARA EstimateScrubber, the software compares it against ICBC rules, identifying potential discrepancies between the estimate and ICBC’s guidelines. Although the tool suggests modifications, the ultimate responsibility for updating the estimate lies with the estimator.

All the rules in this version of the ARA EstimateScrubber were developed using the actual profiles and templates that ICBC has incorporated into the Mitchell Cloud Estimating software. As a result, ARA EstimateScrubber organizes the findings into two main sections. The first section ensures the estimate complies with ICBC rules and includes all required line items. The second section highlights potential missed opportunities based on ICBC estimating guidelines, resulting in a comprehensive estimate that captures all applicable labour and operations.

How to use the NHTSA’s VIN decoder:

Option 1 – Without scrubbing the estimate

• Select the “Estimating Tools” tab from the ARA Estimate Scrubber landing page
• Select “Get NHTSA Vehicle Information”
• Enter vehicle VIN and select “Get Data”

• From the top right of the scrubbing result page, select “NHTSA Vehicle Information”
