PowerSport Dealers Division Info

The ARA PowerSport Dealers Division had its beginnings when the Motorcycle Dealers Advisory Committee of the BC Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA) met in September 2009 to discuss issues of importance to their industry sector. The VSA Board originally formed the committee because it was believed that this sector of the industry was under-represented in policy-making. The Committee Chair is VSA Board member and ARA Licensed Motor Dealers Division Director, Al Cameron.

During that meeting the idea of developing a "PowerSports" division of the ARA was brought forth. It was agreed that a natural fit existed between the ARA and PowerSports dealers, who historically did not have the kind of representation that the ARA provides for its other division.

Darren Chura, the ARA's Licensed Motor Dealers Division consultant, was assigned as the ARA staff contact person for PowerSports dealers, and small, informal meetings took place between various stakeholders over the next few months to gauge their interest in moving forward with the new division.
