The ARA Automotive Glass Division represents the interest of auto glass repair businesses in BC and serves on the liaison committee with ICBC. It is through this committee that ICBC standards of performance, shop labour and parts and materials pay rates are negotiated on behalf of the industry. The Glass Division also participates in steering committees for various education institutions with respect to auto glass and upholstery training programs. We are also currently working on an Industry Certification Program, an industry-led initiative to certify auto glass service providers who have achieved and maintain high standards in product expertise, customer service and business practices. The purpose of the program is to ensure that our customer, the vehicle owner, receives efficient automotive glass repair/replacement work that meets the highest industry standards for quality, safety and service. Most recently, the Auto Glass Division reached agreement with ICBC resolving the Glass Moulding Price structure issue as well as OEM vs. NAGS. This agreement will be finalized in January of 2011 Stay tuned for details.
