The 2016 ARA AGM & Convention is coming up quickly at the end of this week, taking place at the Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler on September 16-17.

If you needed some additional enticement to attend the AGM, the ARA is pleased to announce that the Honourable Shirley Bond, Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training, Minister Responsible for Labour, and MLA for Prince George-Valemount, will be at our AGM Luncheon Keynote Speaker on September 17.

The minister has been very influential in assisting the ARA with our past two labour market studies. The first study resulted in BCASA, the joint sector alliance with the NCDA. Minister Bond was also on hand for the public launch of our bcautocareers.ca web site in March. The second labour market study was a survey of labour needs to better focus the efforts of government spending towards industry training needs.

At this year’s AGM, Minister Bond will speak to the membership about jobs in B.C. and initiatives to attract labour to our sector.

If you would like to register to attend the AGM, the luncheon, or any of the other activities, please visit http://www.ara.bc.ca/araevents/2016-ara-agm-convention. Space is limited! Please contact Kelly Johnston at the ARA Office with any questions you may have.
