ARA Advocacy Efforts Will Lead to Improved Relations with ICBC

The Joint Industry Review is finally released!

After years of perseverance, dedication to the industry, and strong advocacy work, the efforts of the ARA staff, board, and membership have paid off. The Honourable Todd Stone, Minister of Transportation & Infrastructure and Minister Responsible for ICBC, has accepted all of the findings and recommendations that MNP provided in their final report of the Automotive Service Joint Industry Review. The Final Report was delivered to the government and signatories in November 2016.

The independent, unbiased review included many recommendation for improvement that the Minister has accepted, not the least of which is that we can finally address concerns regarding industry compensation. It is our goal to implement a methodology that will stand up to scrutiny going forward. For that to happen, we must all make sure that we can accept the tools that we are now being asked to support. MoT staff will continue to facilitate the discussions between the ARA and our signatories, and they are working under direction from the Minister to get this process completed soon.
