The Automotive Retailers Publishing Company (ARP) is wholly owned by the ARA. It was founded decades ago when printed material was one of the main methods of disseminating information. In fact, ARP began when the ARA purchased a monthly magazine called Western Automotive Industry from Westrade Publications and renamed it Automotive Retailer in the late 1950s. The ARA library has copies of Western Automotive Industry dating back to 1947.
The main purpose of ARP is to serve as a communication tool between the ARA and its members. Today, ARP publishes the Association’s quarterly newsletter, ARA News, as well as three trade magazines that are distributed right across Canada and to some subscribers in the United States. They are Collision Quarterly, Tow Canada, and GreenAuto Canada.
ARA members receive complimentary subscriptions to all of these titles, plus the annual Member Service Guide and other periodical publications.
