Reputable rental agencies will want to ensure that your rental experience is positive and that they can earn your repeat business by providing you the best service possible. However, your due diligence will go a long way to ensuring that your rental experience meets with your expectations. The following is a checklist that will help you know what to expect when renting a vehicle:

When renting a vehicle…

  • Ensure you bring with you a valid driver’s license,
  • Ensure you have adequate insurance coverage (additional coverage can be purchased if necessary),
  • Ensure all pre-existing damages are documented on the rental agreement form before you leave (you may be charged for any damages not properly documented when you return the vehicle).
  • Ensure the rental vehicle’s mileage is documented and you know what the daily allowance is (additional charges may apply for going over the allowance, if any)
  • Ensure the rental vehicle’s gas level is documented (additional charges may apply for not returning the vehicle with the same amount you left with if you did not prepay for a fuel fill-up option).
  • Ensure you know what days and hours the rental agency is open (additional charges may apply for late returns),
  • Drive safe!
